Tasit Al Kadha or Healing Bowl (Magic or Medicine Bowl)
It is usually made of brass, copper or sometimes silver. It consists of a larger bowl and one smaller attached to a dome in its center. The smaller bowl is attached so that it can swivel around. It is inscribed with verses from the Holy Quran.
According to the traditional heritage, it is called bowl of fear and is used in traditional medicine to treat people against feelings of panic. It is used for both children and adults. If a person happened to be scared or terrified as a result of bad news or bad accident, he will drink from this magic bowl. People believe that the water will have the power to cure because of the effect of the Quran verses inscribed on the bowl. In order for more effective healing, water in the magic bowl will be mixed with dates and raisins, and left overnight under the sky on the front of the house.
